Focused Communities of Learning

Students at each grade level are assigned to a "cluster" of approximately 115 students. Each cluster is taught by a "team" of teachers.

Lunch:  Beef Soft Tacos
The make up for NAEP Grade 8 testing will be Monday, Feb. 2.  Only those students whose parents were notified will be tested.
6th Grade sectionals are for Group F today.
7th and 8th Grade Band sectionals for today are as follows: Period 1 - Group 30, Period 5 - Group 31, Period 6 - Group 29, Period 7 - Group 32. Make-up periods today are 2, 4, 6 and 7.
Jazz Improv is today after school from 2:45 - 3:45.
Math Counts: Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be held next Wednesday, February 4.
Attention Students:  The Keene Elks Lodge is sponsoring their Drug Awareness Essay Contest.  This year's theme is refuse to use... never alone.  All are invited to write an essay for this contest.  See your Guidance Counselor if you are interested.  There will be one winner chosen from each grade.  Winners will be invited to a party for their families and will get $100 each and be entered into a statewide contest to win a savings bond.
Yearbook Club will meet today at 2:45.
Evolution Dance:  Sweatshirt money is due TODAY in room 1402. 
Robotics club has started again.  If you would like to learn more about Lego robotics or just find out a little more what it is all about.... Please meet in the cafeteria Tuesday and / or Wednesday at 2:45 PM.  You may participate either day or both days!  An advisor will meet you in the café and bring you to the meeting.
Grade 6 Mathfax Students: The third meet will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3rd in Mrs McRae's classroom. See you there!!!!!
Tickets for the Magical Masquerade Dressy Dance will go on sale during lunches next week.  Eighth grade may purchase tickets on Monday February 2.  Seventh graders may purchase tickets Tuesday February 3.  Sixth graders may purchase tickets Wednesday February 4, and all students may purchase tickets on Thursday February 5.  Only academically eligible students may purchase tickets.  Tickets are five dollars.
Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Congratulations to the  students from Keene Middle School who received awards in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards! Their work will be included in the regional exhibit at Pinkerton Academy with an award ceremony held on February 8th!  More.....
