Focused Communities of Learning

Students at each grade level are assigned to a "cluster" of approximately 115 students. Each cluster is taught by a "team" of teachers.

BUS INFORMATION

The First Student bus schedule can be found hereAs in the past, if parents do not see their specific address listed on the schedule they should consider the bus stop in the closest proximity to their home as “their bus stop”. If parents have specific questions or concerns for First Student, they can be reached at 352-2303.

Artist in Residence

We have been awarded an Artist in Residence grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and are delighted to be starting a residency with Sherry Gould, a basket maker from the Abenaki tribe!  Click here for more details. 

DC Trip - Magazine Orders

All magazine fundraising orders are due Wednesday, Sept 17th. Please bring your orders to Mrs. Scully before homeroom.

7th and 8th Grade Band sectionals for today are as follows: Group 8 - Period 1, Group 5 - Period 2, Group 12 - Period 4, Group 9 - Period 5, Groups 6 and 10 - Period 6, Groups 7 and 11 - Period 7.
 
 
Jazz Band audition sign-ups are posted on the band bulletin board for any students who want to audition but could not attend the meeting. Make sure to sign up for a slot if you want to audition, and see Mr. Clark or Mrs. Hahs for audition materials. 
 
Attention Showchoir: Rehearsal is TODAY from 2:30-4:00.
 
There will be an important OCAC Ambassador meeting after school this Friday.  We will discuss plans for the year and take a walk out to the boardwalk to see the progress that has been made.  Please meet in the IMC at 2:30.  The meeting will go until 3:15.  Please be sure to have a ride home or plan to take the late bus.  
 
7th and 8th grade students: Check out after school clubs at KMS on Wed., Sept.  17th from 2:45 to 3:15, in the IMC. Students will need to take the late bus home or have a ride before 3:15. 6th grade students can sign up in the IMC on Thursday, September 18, during homeroom.  Students from towns that don't have a late bus on Wednesday can also check it out at this time.
 
September is Library Card Sign-up Month!  Do you have a Keene Public Library card?  Show an adult in the the IMC and enter a drawing to win a Toadstool Gift certificate!  If you don't have a Keene Public Library card, come to the IMC for a form, fill it out and bring it to the Keene Public Library.  When you get your card, share it with us and you can enter the drawing!
 
It's time for club signups and the Cardinal Newspaper Club is waiting for you to make our newspaper one of the best ever this year.  On Club signup day, stop by to become a Cardinal Newspaper Club member - we need reporters to write stories about KMS students and staff.  We also need illustrators, photographers, keyboarders, and anyone with a good eye for newspaper design and computer skills. We meet on Wednesdays at 2:45 in Mrs. Sylvia's room! Want to know what we've done in past years?
